    Gallery to Exhibit DCC Alumni Artwork

    The Mildred I. Washington Art Gallery at Dutchess Community College will host an exhibit between April 29 and May 24 featuring work created by DCC Alumni. An opening reception will be held on May 2 at 5 p.m.

    Former Poet Laureate Pinsky to Partner with DCC for Favorite Poem Project

    On April 18, selected Dutchess County residents will read their favorite poems in front of an audience that will include former United States Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky. The readings will take place at 7 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre on DCC's main campus.

    New Deal Backlash the Subject of Lecture

    New York University History Professor Dr. Kimberly Phillips-Fein will present "The Long Reaction: The Transformation of American Politics and the Backlash Against the New Deal" at Dutchess Community College on April 17 at 7 p.m. The lecture will be held in the James and Betty Hall Theatre on DCC's main campus, and is free and open to the public.

    Foundation Gala Draws 300, Honors Two, Raises Funds for Student Scholarships

    The Dutchess Community College Foundation's annual Gala - Community's Bridge to the Future - was held on Saturday, March 23 at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. The event drew approximately 300 guests to honor two outstanding individuals and raise more than $140,000 for student scholarships. The event also marked the 30th anniversary of the DCC Foundation's creation.

    DCC Foundation Gala to Honor Two, Raise Funds for Student Scholarships

    The Dutchess Community College Foundation's annual Gala - Community's Bridge to the Future - will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. The event will honor a local physician and a community leader, and raise funds for student scholarships. The Foundation awards more than $380,000 per year in scholarships to deserving DCC students.

    College Growth, High School Outreach Highlighted at President's Breakfast

    Approximately 120 local business and community leaders, donors and friends gathered on Jan. 3 for the 20th Annual Dutchess Community College President's Breakfast held on the College's Poughkeepsie campus. The keynote address was given by New York State Supreme Court Justice Christine Sproat, a graduate of DCC's Class of 1976.

    Foundation Craft Fair Coming Thanksgiving Weekend

    The Dutchess Community College Foundation will host its 41st Annual Craft Fair on Thanksgiving weekend, November 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day on the DCC main campus in Poughkeepsie. This has become one of the area's most anticipated hand-made crafts events.

    Thirty-Four Earn Coveted DCC Scholarship

    Thirty-four Dutchess Community College freshmen were formally awarded the 2012 Charles E. and Mabel E. Conklin Scholarship for Academic Excellence recently, joining family members and Mr. Conklin for a luncheon on campus. When combined with the Conklin scholars who began at DCC last fall, approximately 75 students currently are benefiting from the initiative.

    Business Person of the Year Luncheon Honors CH Energy Group CEO

    Dutchess Community College welcomed almost 200 guests to the 2012 Poughkeepsie Journal Business Person of the Year luncheon Tuesday to honor this year's award recipient, Steven V. Lant, chairman, president and CEO of CH Energy Group.

    Former Clinton Speechwriter to Lecture About the Supreme Court, Presidential Politics

    Jeff Shesol, a historian, communications strategist and former speechwriter for President Bill Clinton, will give a presentation called "Supreme Power: FDR's Court Fight - and Barack Obama's" on April 5 at 7 p.m. in Dutchess Community College's James and Betty Hall Theatre. The lecture is free and open to the public.

    Vassar College Sociology Professor Diane Harriford will come to Dutchess Community College on March 8 to give a lecture about the importance of broad-based education titled "Liberal Arts and the Community College Student." It will begin at 7 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre and is free and open to the public.

    College Growth Highlighted at President's Breakfast

    Approximately 180 Dutchess Community College business and community leaders, donors and friends gathered Jan. 5 for the 19th Annual President's Breakfast held on the College's Poughkeepsie campus. The keynote address was given by Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro, a graduate of DCC's Class of 2001.
