The Office of Information Systems provides computing support for the college’s entire administrative, academic and instructional functions. The Software Development Team supports the administrative software and manages all related software design and development. Areas of support include Admission, Registration, Student Records, Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll. The team also supports numerous smaller systems like Netpay, Resource25, Kronos, Compass, Stratavoice, ACT, Black Board, Raiser’s Edge, ENGERS, Studio, Winnebago etc. The Administrative system provided by Computing Options Company comprises of hundreds of datasets and applications which runs on two UNIX platforms connecting approximately two hundred users. The Office of Information Systems works very closely with the end-users and the Office of Institutional Planning and Research to meet all the reporting needs of the college. The team also maintains about 1200 in-house written programs to augment the COCO system. The Office of Information Systems is also responsible for programming and maintaining the College’s website, student information kiosks and touchtone registration. A help desk is also operated by the Office of Information Systems which is a focal point that offers problem solving services for computer help or questions regarding the Network, Email system, PC programs, and COCO. Personal on site help is also provided by the team.
The Office of Information Systems’ Network Team maintains a Campus wide network comprising of approximately 2000 PCs and about 5000 network ports interconnecting computer services, linking the internet, computing labs, email services, etc. The Computer Center also offers wireless network access in several buildings on campus. The team also provides extensive PC software support.
