The Office of Operations and Maintenance is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Dutchess Community College campus. The campus consists of 10 major buildings (664,207 sq.ft.) on a 191 acre campus and the two off-site locations; DCC South and Norrie Point Environmental Center. The departments’ staff of 60 ensures the facilities and grounds are well maintained and clean, and that the buildings systems are operated efficiently; providing a safe and pleasant environment for our students, faculty and staff. Since January of 2000, the department has completed 12,706 work orders in support of this effort. Also included in the department’s responsibilities are the receipt and delivery to the campus all packages and supplies, and the inventory of 25,343 fixed assets.

Over the past year, the Operations and Maintenance department has overseen the installation of (2) 300 ton gas engine chillers, associated pumps, and the installation of a new Direct Digital Control Energy Management system that will contribute to substantial savings of energy and dollars. It is the responsibility of this department to ensure that the system is operating at its peak efficiency and that these savings are realized.
