Tutoring Services

Free peer and professional tutoring is available in most courses. All students experiencing difficulty with a course are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Tutoring is provided one-on-one or in small groups. Hours for group tutoring are posted on our office bulletin board each semester.

To apply for tutoring, or to apply to be a tutor, pick up an application in the Office of Academic Services - Hudson Hall, Room 315 or at Dutchess South.

Q:  How long does it take to get a tutor?

A:  The time to match a tutor with a client depends on both the availability of qualified tutors and the time availability of the student desiring tutoring. A match can be made as quickly as one day, and unfortunately, some matches are never made. Generally it takes 1-2 weeks before tutoring actually starts.

Q:  Do I have to pay for tutoring?

A:  No. Tutoring is free for DCC students registered for credit classes.

Q:  Other questions?

A:  Contact: Ms. Tracey Ascenzi, Tutoring Coordinator at 431-8091 or Ms. Deborah Scardaci at 431-8478
