Book Club & Real People, Real World

Book Club

Each semester, the Office of Academic Services and Testing presents a two-part book club. The first part consists of a Book Club Launch where participating students receive a free copy of the novel that will be read that semester. The second part takes place three to four weeks later where students participate in the Book Club Discussion . The book club is a fabulous opportunity to connect with other DCC students and staff members.

This semester the Book Club is offered in two locations; on the Main Campus  The Art of Racing in the Rain  by Garth Stein is featured and at the South Campus  The House on Mango Street  by Sandra Cisneros is featured.  Other recent books have included  Tuesdays with Morrie  by Mitch Albom,  What Now?  by Anne Patchett, and T he Last Lecture  by Randy Pausch.

Career Networking Event: Real World, Real People

Each semester The Office of Academic Services and Testing offers an opportunity for students to explore a variety of career options though informal discussions with community professionals.  The professionals are working in fields associated with curricula offered at DCC and are prepared to discuss their education, career path, current job positions and offer advice.   This informative program is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore their future careers options.
