The value of the college experience for each student is greatly affected by personal needs, problems, and interests. At Dutchess, student services is regarded as an integral part of the total educational program. Faculty and staff make a conscientious effort to know students as individuals and assist them in achieving their educational and personal goals.

The Department of Student Services includes the following offices: Admissions, Registrar, Counseling and Career Services, Disability Services, Financial Aid, Health Services, Student Activities, and Intercollegiate Athletics. They are coordinated by the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management. All students should feel free to contact any member of the Student Services staff for assistance.

Dr. Sandra Miller Holst, Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management

Dean Holst joined the staff of DCC in 2005. Ms. Holst received her Ph.D. in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University. She received a Master’s of Education degree in Educational Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University, a Master’s of Science degree in Counselor Education and Student Personnel Services from SUNY Brockport, and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education from SUNY New Paltz.

Marta Newkirk, Assistant Dean of Student Services

Dean Marta Newkirk joined the staff of Dutchess Community College in the Spring Semester of 2000. Dean Newkirk received a B.A. from Mount Saint Mary College; an M.P.S. from the State University College at New Paltz; and an M.A. from Marist College. She has also earned a Graduate Certificate from Kansas State University.
