Library Instruction


Librarians of the DCC library provide instruction and consultations to support the research and teaching of the faculty, staff and students at the college.

The library's Reference Department offers a number of services to help members of the DCC Community locate and use pertinent information resources, including:

  • Providing answers to e-mail, on-site and telephone ready reference questions
  • Assisting patrons in finding information for coursework
  • Providing individualized instruction in the use of print and electronic resources
  • Consulting and database searching for complex research projects
  • Offering information literacy programs for classes
  • Reference services are available during regular library hours
  • Information Literacy Instruction

    Faculty are encouraged to make arrangements for their students to receive information literacy training through the library.Types of training include:

  • General workshops on library services
  • Discipline-specific orientations to resources and search tools
  • Internet research
