At Dutchess Community College there are two types of
scholarships. There are the Dutchess Community College Scholarships that the school awards to students through its Honors Convocation. This convocation is held in the spring semester every year for scholarships to be used in the upcoming fall and spring semesters. There are over 125 different scholarships for which DCC students can apply, including scholarships for full-time, part-time, and even graduating students. The scholarship application can be fill out online at DCC Scholarship Application. You can apply for more than one DCC scholarship, but you will be awarded only one.
There is also a full-tuition scholarship for entering freshman to DCC, the Charles and Mabel Conklin Scholarship for Academic Excellence. To be eligible the applicant has to be full-time and graduate from their Dutchess high school in the top 10% of their class. This scholarship covers tuition and fees at DCC for two consecutive years (4 semesters). To get an application for the Charles and Mabel Conklin Scholarship, check with your guidance office at your high school or call the DCC Admissions Office to have them send one to you (845-431-8010).
The other type of scholarship that a student may receive at DCC, is an Outside Scholarship. The school does not control this type of scholarship. These are scholarships that the student can apply for outside the school. Students can find information about outside scholarships from various sources. There are books with hundreds of different scholarships. Four of the most popular books are:
