35th Annual Holiday Craft Fair Thanksgiving Weekend

Holiday shoppers found unique, one-of-a-kind gifts at the Dutchess Community College Foundation’s 35th Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26.  The fair was held in Falcon and Drumlin Halls at DCC’s main campus in Poughkeepsie; hours were 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days with special consideration to shoppers with disabilities, allowing them to enter at 9:30 a.m.

The weather was delightful and it couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend for the event.  Although many people enjoyed walking the Dutchess County Trolley was offered free of charge for transportation between both buildings and the parking lots.

The DCC Foundation Holiday Craft Fair is a juried show that draws over 3000 visitors each year for original, hand-crafted items by more than 100 artisans and specialty food makers. Most are vendors from the Hudson Valley region, but many are traveling from across New York State, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Items for sale included fiber arts, fabrics, and clothing; candles, soaps and oils, decorative painting and fine arts; dolls, toys, and collectibles; ceramics and porcelain; plus jewelry, floral arrangements, and works in glass, leather, metal, photography, and wood. Door prizes were donated by the vendors and the proceeds benefit student scholarships.
