DCC MUSIC SCHOOL - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

INCLEMENT WEATHER CLOSINGS:

1. Dutchess Community College rarely closes. However, there may be days when college classes are held but MUSIC SCHOOL classes are cancelled due to weather. Call (845) 431-8916 and listen to the message. If there is no mention of weather, classes are not cancelled.

2. Cancellation policies may vary depending on your individual teacher's situation. (Some of our teachers travel a long distance to the college). Your teacher will contact you if your class or lesson is cancelled.

3. Any classes cancelled by the college or instructor will be rescheduled. You will be notified of the reschedule date by your teacher or the college staff. No make-up classes are to be scheduled past the end of the semester.

MISSED LESSONS AND TARDINESS POLICIES:

1. GROUP CLASSES: It is not possible to make up lost instruction for a lack of class attendance. There are no make-up classes unless the class is cancelled by the instructor or the College. No portion of the tuition is refundable.

2. INDIVIDUAL LESSONS: Care should be taken to attend all scheduled lessons. While our teachers make every effort to reschedule lessons that are cancelled in advance, this is not always possible and teachers are not obligated to arrange make-up lessons. Make-ups are not possible for lessons cancelled with less than 24-hour notice, for no-shows or for cancelled make-ups. Teachers do not teach beyond the scheduled time or make-up any lesson time if a student is late. If a teacher cancels a lesson or is late, make-up lessons or additional times are arranged. No make-up lessons are to be scheduled past the end of the semester. 3. TUITION REFUND POLICY: Refunds will only be given if requested 1 business day prior to the day a course begins. If a refund request is approved for a course, a $5 processing fee will be deducted from the refund. If the college cancels a course, a full refund is given. There are no refunds for mid-semester withdrawals.
