General Information

The Office of Community Services offers a full variety of non-credit courses, seminars and training programs for adults and an exciting mix of enrichment programs, sports academies and classes for children. Adults wishing to enhance job skills or develop new hobbies will find many quality, low cost offerings from which to choose. Corporations, community organizations and government agencies can rely on the Office of Community Services to provide customized training designed to increase productivity, efficiency and profits.

Our Programs: Non-Credit/Continuing Education Programs offered by the DCC Office of Community Services fulfill basic occupational, informational, and educational needs of the community. The non-credit approach makes it possible for the life-long learner to continue education in an informal, non-competitive environment where interest in learning is the only consideration.

Tax Deduction: An income tax deduction or credit may be allowed for expenses of education (including registration fees, travel, meals and lodging) undertaken to maintain and improve professional skills.

Special Notes: The College reserves the right to make substitutions for instructors without prior notice. Non-Credit/Continuing Education Programs are normally open to persons 17 years old or over. In exceptional circumstances, permission may be given by the Dean of Community Services for younger persons to enroll. Permission is not needed when the courses are designed for people under 17. The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation in its Non-Credit Programs.

Don't Kill a Course: Nothing destroys a good course more quickly than everyone waiting until the last minute to register. Please register early to avoid a class cancellation due to lack of enrollment! We appreciate your cooperation.

Tuition Refund Policy: Refunds for withdrawal from continuing education courses and seminars will be given if requested prior to the end of the business day preceding the day the course starts or the conference is held. If a refund request is approved for a course or conference, a $5 processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Refunds for withdrawal from Enrichment or Sports or Music Programs will be given if requested prior to the end of the business day preceding the first day of academy. If a refund is approved, a $20 fee per section will be assessed. No refunds will be given after the academy week has begun. Full refunds will be given for all course that are cancelled by the College.

Interested in Becoming a DCC Non-Credit/Continuing Education Program Instructor in Pawling, Beacon or Other DCC Sites?

We are always interested in talking with people who would like to teach a non-credit course. Very successful offerings come about because someone has a special talent and an interest in teaching. Our teachers come from many different walks of life. Send us your resume, course outline and a 40-60 word description of your course. We will be glad to discuss it further. The Office of Community Services is particularly interested in Registered Nurses to teach Nursing Continuing Education courses and a Driving Safety Instructor with an MV-283 certificate.
