Why should I choose DCC? Can I afford DCC? How do I apply to DCC?

studying part-time at DCC

Over 50% of the students at DCC attend classes part-time - which means that they take 11 or less credits. The College recognizes that many of our students have other responsibilities, such as work and family, and therefore cannot attend college full-time. Our class schedules are organized to help part-time students fit education into their lives.

Students who wish to take courses but who have not yet decided to enroll in a specific curriculum simply register for their
desired courses at one of the College's advertised registrations, assuming they meet the course prerequisites, if applicable.
(Such students are technically designated non-matriculated.)

College advisors are available at all registrations to advise all
non-matriculated, part-time students.

A brochure, describing the evening and off-campus course offerings, times, locations and other pertinent registration information is mailed
to each Dutchess and Putnam County residence approximately one month prior to the start of each College term. Residents of other
counties may request the brochure by calling the Office of the Registrar at (845) 431-8020.

Once enrolled, a part-time student is given the opportunity to
pre-register for courses in the next College term before non-enrolled students are scheduled to register. Enrolled students are mailed information and directions for this pre-registration each semester.

Part-time students desiring to become candidates for degrees in specific programs
(desiring to matriculate) should contact the Registrar's Office.
